Happy Lunar New Year! Room 14 have had a great time learning from their classmates about the Lunar New Year traditions and celebrations. We opened fortune cookies, painted lanterns and wrote in Mandarin!
Ms.Reilly’s class have really enjoyed Report Writing and using the school laptops and tablets.They have worked in pairs researching and presenting their reports and sharing all the facts they have learned with the class.

The children in Ms.Reilly’s class really enjoyed the festive activities during December. They finished up this term creating Christmas acrostic poems.
What a busy month in Second Class! In Ms Cafferky’s class, they designed their own Christmas jars as candle holders, watched the Panto- Hansel and Gretel, had Christmas jumper day in aid of Barretstown and made some fabulous snowy penguins.
Ms Cafferky’s second class have been enjoying their weekly trips to the library. They have been taking great care of the school books and work really hard to get DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) time in class!
6th class made Maths word problems for 2nd class. The children loved going up to the 6th class classroom.
Mr Mc Carney’s class had great fun dressing up for Halloween before the mid term break. World cup fever has hit Room 14 when they were cheering on their team Switzerland during the group stages of the World Cup. They have really enjoyed working on their ball skills with Declan. They celebrated Science Week 2022 by planting daffodil buds in the school garden. We look forward to seeing them bloom in the spring!

The children in Ms. Reilly’s Second Class are really enjoying their visits to the library, especially now that they can take books out on loan. Some children enjoy reading quietly in groups and others enjoy this time alone. It is one of our favourite activities each week
This month we have been busy in Ms Cafferky’s class. 6th class have been reading with us, as Gaeilge and with our Big Cat readers. We went to their class last week and they surprised us with some word problems to solve. We also created ‘Figure Me Out’ posters as part of Maths Week.
2nd Class finished off Math’s week with a Math’s Table Quiz. Well done to everyone who took part!.
