The Tiger Who Came To Tea! Happy customers in our café! Our two chefs working hard in the kitchen!
In November Ms Kane’s class had fun in The Cafe role-play are, we built cafes with construction blocks, we decorated beautiful wedding cakes and enjoyed acting out the story The Tiger Who Came to Tea. We also loved making our very own Funny Fcae biscuits and eating them.
We responded to Van Gigh’s painting Starry Night
Ms Brennan’s Senior Infant class enjoyed working on the theme ‘The Café’ this month and completed: Role Play in Auntie Liz’s Cafe,Construction of our own cafés and kennels for the tiger in the story ‘The Tiger that Came to Tea’, Water Play with Washing & Drying Dishes, Playdoh making utensils and food for the Cafe.
During Science Week, we looked at the Skittles and Dancing Raisins experiments which we really enjoyed!
As part of our Café theme we read a story ‘Friday’s at the Café’ and looked at procedural writing to make funny face biscuits.
November was a very busy month for us in Cummins’s class. We made ‘Funny Face Cookies’ that we got from our book, Friday’s at the Café. Some of us were too hungry to wait for teacher to take a photo of our cookies! We made our own 4 – tier cake for display on the window to show our parents our great cutting skills. We made enclosures for different animals using blocks, Lego and mobilo! For the last week of November we were learning about Advent and we have started making our own Advent Calendar for Christmas.

Ms Kane’s class enjoyed Science week experiments.
Things got very spooky in Ms O’Dowd’s class this month. We had our very own witches den and had fun dressing up in spooky costumes. We made our own potions using eyeballs, spiders, fingers, bats, insects annd bones. We even made a potion that turned Ms O’Dowd into a chicken! We also made a witches brew and carved some scary pumpkins.
We were very busy making Halloween art. We made clay cauldrons, skeletons and Frankenstein!
During maths week we learned all about shapes and went on a shape hunt in our school. Look at all the shapes we found! Can you spot any?
October in Ms Kane’s class. The class enjoyed library time, the theme The Witches’ Den and Math’s Week activities.
Ms Brennan’s rclass had great fun building Witches Den during play time. We played the Witches Den and make some Halloween Art. During National Tree day we looked at the Hazel tree and did some colouring. On Tuesday we were lucky enough to be able to cheer off our Senior Boys team on their journey to Croke Park.

Ms Brennan’s Senior Infants were busy doing art work in September. We created self-portraits of ourselves and displayed them for everyone to see. We then created our lovely autumn trees by stamping our leaves with broccoli to give a lovely effect. We enjoyed the recent fine weather and went on a Nature Walk around our school grounds where we saw items like berries, cobwebs and conkers.
Ms O’Dowd’s class had so much fun exploring the theme of ‘The School’ in September.

Ms Kane’s class enjoyed the theme ‘The School’ during the month of September. They took part in role-play, construction, small world and art activities. They also enjoyed the stories ‘The Kissing Hand’ and ‘Zog’. The children drew self-portraits during art. They used some broccoli to print some lovely autumn trees too.
