Gallery – Sixth Class
Ms. Walsh’s class are trying to make the most of their last two weeks of primary school – that’s parachute and planting ticked off the list!
Ms. Walsh’s class had a great time on their school tour last week – BaySports and Andean Alpaca farm.
Mr. Hussey’s class thoroughly enjoyed their school tour in Bay Sports and the Alpaca Farm.
This month 6th Class took part in a Hockey tournament – a fun afternoon had by all!

The children in Mr. Hussey’s spent a long time working on their Greece and China projects. They all performed so well and the standard of their projects was just amazing! Well done to all of them. Here are a some children presenting their projects to the class.

Ms. Walsh’s class loved seeing the Sam Maguire in school last week! We definitely have some future county players in our class!!
The children in Mr. Hussey’s room thoroughly enjoyed the egg drop challenge. The task was to create a ‘bed’ that would protect the egg when dropped from a height. All eggs survived!!!
The children in Mr Hussey’s have recently enjoyed engaging in STEM work whereby they were working on ‘Stop Motion videos’. Well done to Sophie, Lauren and Chace who’s animal projects were voted the best in the class by their fellow classmates
Ms. Walsh’s class have been very busy lately!! We really enjoyed working with LEGO in STEM to make working robots. We created fabulous clay tiles. And we just started designing our own bird feeders from recycled milk cartons – check back next week to see the finished products! 🙂
World Book Day in 6th Class!
Ms. Walsh’s class loved making St. Brigid’s crosses for the community of St. Mochta’s.
Mr. Hussey’s class enjoyed making St. Brigid’s crosses. They were all very proud of their finished products.
In Ms. Cafferky’s 6th Class, we had a very busy January. We enjoyed the soccer tournament Friday where our girls were the winners and our boys were runners up in the final. We also made St Brigid’s crosses for the parish, which Fr Paul will bless.
The pupils in Mr. Hussey’s class enjoyed researching, designing and constructing windmills as part of STEM. The pupils also enjoyed gathering evidence for debate writing.
Ms. Walsh’s class had loads of fun getting ready for Christmas this year. We made a fabulous Christmas village which Santa really loved when he came to visit! We also wrote our own Christmas Narratives and read them to our buddy class. Take a look at our Christmas Clay art too!

Mr. Hussey’s class enjoyed constructing their own musical instruments from recyclable objects.
The children here performed using their instruments, and recently worked on constructing clay animals in Art.
Ms Cafferky’s class have had a HECTIC but fun October in 6th Class!
We have been busy working on our Intel projects, conducting surveys and experiments while preparing our scrapbooks and posters for the big display on November 6th. In the middle of all this we had a trip to Croker to cheer on Mochtas!! 💙💛
