Ms. Harraghy’s Class School Tour
We went on our 3rd class school tour to the National Aquatic Centre. We had so much fun swimming and playing in the water. Then we went to the sports centre where we played lots of games. There were exciting activities for everyone to enjoy. It was a great day and we all had a brilliant time!
April–June in Ms. Harraghy’s Class
This term has been full of creativity and learning! We made summer self-portraits and paper flower collages, adding lots of colour to our classroom. After completing their swimming lessons and learning about water safety, the boys and girls designed their own funky beach towels. The children made beautiful keyrings and cards in Art to celebrate Father’s Day—so creative and thoughtful!
We also marked a big achievement: becoming published authors with our class book “If I Was a Billionaire…”. What amazing imaginations!
In Maths, we learned about area and calculated the area of our names. In Religion, following the passing of Pope Francis, the children completed a Five Finger Prayer to show love and gratitude for the important people in their lives.
Well done, everyone!
Ms. McGloin’s 3rd Class enjoyed some gardening with Patrick Hunt recently. We weeded some beds and planted onion and lettuce. Thank you to Ms Schmidt for organising this for us!
Ms McGloin’s class have been learning about electricity and how it works. We experimented with bulbs, batteries and wires to create circuits
Ms. Harraghy’s class created beautiful artwork for mothers day- take a look at our newspaper articles and flower bouquets! The boys and girls have been working very hard on their acrostic Springtime poems for ‘Seachtain na Gaeilge’.
The children have also been exploring the importance of sustainability and our carbon footprint with Junior Achievement Ireland- take a look at our activities which showed us the process of how bananas make it from the Dominican Republic to our supermarkets in Clonsilla…

Ms McGloin’s class conducted an experiment on the effects of proper hand-washing.
Each group touched a slice of bread under different circumstances – with unwashed hands, with hand sanitizer on, and with clean, dry hands (using soap and water). We noticed that the hand gel and the unwashed hand samples were the fastest to show mould. The bread we touched with clean hands showed the least amount of mould.
This showed us how much of a difference it makes to have clean hands, especially before we touched our own food at snack and lunch times.
Photos from January- February in Ms.Harraghy’s class, where we have been learning all about the earth’s layers, volcanoes and the different planets in our solar system. We have learned alot about the ancient Egyptians in History and Music from our pyramid projects, our hieroglyphic designs on papyrus paper and our Egyptian drums!
In Gaeilge the children wrote their own recipe for Borróga Vailintín- take a look at how delicious their finished cupcakes turned out!
We made our weekly trip to the library to read and to borrow some books. It can be difficult to choose which book to borrow sometimes…
We all wore our Christmas jumpers to school on the day before the Christmas holidays. It was lovely to see everyone looking so festive!
December was a month of hard work and festive spirit in Ms. Harraghy’s 3rd class. The children created Christmas cards and decorations, learned about the importance of helping others during this time of year, and made carol singer pictures using the music score from ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’. We wrapped up the month with a well-deserved hot chocolate party to celebrate all of their hard work. We’ve had a tree-mendous time this season!
Ms McGloin’s class worked incredibly hard on these super projects. Each pupil was assigned a county of Ireland to work on. Their work is amazing – take a look!
Ms McGloin’s class created this beautiful artwork inspired by the work of Andy Warhol. They also wrote excellent reports about his life and work. Take a look!
This is Ms Leddy’s class all dressed up in our Halloween costumes and looking forward to the mid term break! Happy Halloween!
